If you can get over the fact that you actually have to tell someone it’s your birthday, you can get a ton of birthday freebies all over New Zealand.

Most of the birthday rewards mentioned below are for club members.

You’ll want to join the loyalty program of the retailer you’re targeting in order to qualify for offers.

It’s worth it, though, with loads of birthday vouchers on offer.

When it comes to birthday freebies, NZ food outlets are pretty generous.

Getting birthday freebies makes your birthday even more special, especially if you’re a bit frugal.

If you’re not one to go out for a meal or coffee usually, these free birthday deals might be the perfect treat that you can actually afford.

• Nando’s – NZ$15 birthday voucher for PERi-Perks members
